There are a couple of ways to work around this problem:
1. Print the document with Background Printing turned off. Or, print under the Finder.
2. Seek out a LaserWriter with more memory. A LaserWriter II comes with 2.0 Mb and can be upgraded. A LaserWriter and LaserWriter Plus have only 1.5 Mb and cannot be upgraded. Also, if a LaserWriter II NTX is available, see if the document will print to it.
3. If 300 dpi resolution isn't absolutely necessary, try scanning at a lower resolution.
Typical error messages indicating this problem: LIMIT CHECK and TIME OUT.
Note about LaserWriter resolution:
Images scanned at 300 dpi and imported into MacDraw II will print with a resolution of 288 dpi. Therefore, these images will print with a slightly lower resolution than they were scanned. To print these images at 300 dpi from MacDraw II, hold down the Option & Command keys while selecting the Preferences dialog box. This will switch the LaserWriter print resolution to 300 dpi and will allow your 300 dpi, scanned images to print at the correct resolution.
