DeltaGraph: Charts Paste in as Blank or Scaled Graphics

Using Select All and Copy to transfer a DeltaGraph chart can result in a blank objects also being copied. This results in a large object which may appear scaled or blank.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
When you select all and copy in DeltaGraph, a charting application, you may copy the ENTIRE page, not just the area of interest. This can particularly happen if you have deleted text, but not the text block which surrounds it. Delta Graph apparently does not delete this empty text block, even after saving the document.

MacWrite II/Pro
MacWrite II sees the object as a full page and tries to fit it into the space which youÕve allowed. If the space is too small, MacWrite II will attempt to scale it, blank space and all. If this occurs, try selecting just the chart you want to copy instead of using Select All. Alternatively, Select All and check for blank text boxes which appear as blank objects with handles (small black squares) around them. Delete any you find and try copying and pasting the chart again.

ClarisWorks
In ClarisWorks, a DeltaGraph chart will paste in as expected, but if you choose Ungroup Picture, the graphic disappears. The large blank object has moved to the front. Click outside the graphic to de-select everything. Then click over where the graphic appeared to try to select the blank object. Press the delete key. If this doesn't work, use the recommendations offered above for MacWrite. This problem may also happen with ClarisImpact.
