Claris CAD 1.0: Arcs Adding Loops or Extensions

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
Claris CAD 1.0 had an anomaly where arcs smaller than one degree would often have a loop, tail or curly extension. To see this, create an arc with a large radius (10") and very small visible segment (around 1 degree). Zoom in on the arc--you will see a looped extension.

In Claris CAD 2.0 this is basically fixed. However arcs, after they have been modified by being moved, duplicated, flipped can often have extensions to them. This is caused by some random information being added by the modification to the decimal portion of arc. There is a way to delete the random information and correct the display.

- Select the arc.
- Show Info
- Highlight the decimal portion of the Radius of the arc and delete it and press Enter. (e.g. if the radius is 53.425, delete .425)
- Retype decimal portion press Enter (e.g. type .425).

(You should not cut and paste the decimal portion because doing so will not remove the random information present in the internal information about the arc.)
