In Claris CAD 2.0, you can find the distance between two points by using the arrow cursor and the L box in the Location bar.
The point resize icon (between the zoom percent indicator and the X box of the location bar) must be set to resize from the point clicked. The diagonal line should not be through the box.
Let's say that you wanted to find the distance between the endpoints of two lines.
1) Select and lock the endpoint modifier
2) Click on the first endpoint and release the mouse
3) Drag the mouse (with the button up) to the second line's endpoint, so that the cursor indicates that it has selected the line. Do not click the mouse.
4) The L box in the Location bar will indicate the distance between the two points.
If you click on the second point, it will select that point as the last point clicked and the L box will show you how far the cursor is from that point.
The whole idea is that the L box will show you the distance from the last point clicked to the point where the cursor is or where a modifier is selecting a point.
