MacDraw II: Lines on Screen or Cannot Address Million of Colors

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
MacDraw II (any version) will not run when the Monitors Control Panel is set to thousands or millions of colors. On most Macintosh computers, if you try to run MacDraw II more than 256 colors, you'll see a "Not enough memory" alert. With an Apple 8¥24 video board, the application will launch, but the document window displays a series of lines on the screen.

On the Power Macintosh, if you try to launch MacDraw II with more than 256 colors, you may get a Type 11 error. For both of these problems, the fix is to assign more memory to MacDraw II and to set the monitor colors to 256 or less.
