MacPlot: Using MacPlot 1.2v2 with System 7.0

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
The Compatibility Checker states that MacPlot 1.2v2 isn't fully compatible with System 7.0.

To install the MacPlot Driver under System 7.0:

1. Double click on the System Folder to open it and drag the MacPlot Driver into it. If you try to drag the driver onto the system folder without opening on it, the system will want to place the driver into the extensions folder.

Don't drag the driver onto the System Folder or it will be placed in the Extensions Folder and MacPlot Configure 1.2v2 won't be able to find it.

2. Choose the MacPlot Driver before running MacPlot Configure.

As always, if the MacPlot Driver isn't chosen, MacPlot Configure will present a dialog with a button labeled "Use Chooser". However, this button will not bring up the chooser under system 7.0 and will display an alert that says it is "Unable to run the Chooser". Choosing the driver first will avoid this.

3. Set Virtual Memory and 32-bit addressing off in the Memory Control Panel and re-boot (this is true also when using Mode32).

The MacPlot Driver version 1.2v2 will not work with either Virtual Memory or 32-bit Addressing.

If any of the above solutions are not viable for your use, you may purchase a different plotter driver. Other drivers are available from MicroSpot.
