MacDraw Pro: AppleShare Print Server Error Message

Installing the LaserWriter 6.0.2 printer driver with the MacDraw Pro 1.0 Installer can create printing difficulty when printing using the AppleShare Print Server software.
This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
This occurs because the AppleShare Print Server software uses the Laser Prep file on the AppleShare server to initialize the LaserWriter printers, not the Laser Prep file on the user's computer. After installing MacDraw Pro, the Laser Prep file on the user's hard disk may be a later version than the Laser Prep on the AppleShare server (which may be version 5.2 or earlier). This will cause an "Incompatible version..." message when trying to print.

To print correctly using an AppleShare Print Server, you must update the Laser Prep file on the AppleShare server to be the same version as that on the user's hard disk. (System 7 disks include a Laser Prep file specifically for placement on the AppleShare server). Then reset the laser printer. Also, be sure that there is only one Laser Prep file in the AppleShare server's System Folder.
