Claris Resolve: Hide Utility Causes Crashes

There is a bug in Claris Resolve 1.0v2 in the Hide Utility. It has been corrected in Claris Resolve 1.0v3.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

In Claris Resolve 1.0v2 there is an issue with the Hide command under the Utilities menu. Here are the steps necessary to reproduce it:

1. The Cell must contain text (not numbers)
2. The Cell must be right aligned
3. The column which contains the cell is collapsed to just 1 pixel wide.

If the first two cases are true for any cell in the column, Claris Resolve will hang when the column is collapsed to just 1 pixel wide. This only happens in the 1 pixel case. 2 pixels or 0 pixels works fine.

The Claris Resolve Demo files use quite a bit of right aligned text, so the behavior is commonly reported by operators of this demo. It will also occur on a new worksheet, however, if the correct conditions exist.

This was corrected in Claris Resolve 1.0v3.
