Printing and Plotting with Radius Rocket Accelerator

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
NOTE: A fix for this problem is available from Radius.

Problem: Using an HP Draftmaster in Final Mode and about 3-4 minutes into the plotting, the plotter just stopped. This occurred on many documents with sufficient memory to plot.

Cause: Per Radius, there is a serial problem between the Radius Rocket Accelerator and the ImageWriter II, LQ, and HP DeskWriter. It is manifested by a loss of handshaking whereby the buffer overflows and the printer just stops.

Temporary Solution: Turn off the Accelerator when plotting. In addition, have the customer call Radius so that they may be logged in to receive their fix when it becomes available.
