ClarisWorks: Objects Shift When Copied or Saved as PICT

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
Images Shift When Copied to Another Application or Saved as PICT

Objects that are copied and pasted from ClarisWorks into another application may shift slightly because the clipboard may be unable to record highly precise alignments you achieve in a ClarisWorks document.

To avoid shifting, create your ClarisWorks document with the ruler set to 72, 36 or 18 divisions per inch and turn the Autogrid on. Objects created under this ruler setting can be copied and pasted or saved in a PICT file with significantly less shifting.

In ClarisWorks for Windows, this shift can be caused by minor precision errors when ungrouping Windows Meta-Files.
