Documentation / Publication Issue
The initial shipment of MacDraw Pro was shipped with an incorrect version of the Dandie Candie tutorial file. Specifically, several items that were supposed to be grouped were left ungrouped. If a user attempts to step through the tutorial instructions in the MacDraw Pro Getting Started manual using the Dandie Candie file, the results will not be what the manual states. Listed below are the errors a user will encounter using this version of the Dandie Candie file.
* Page 2-19 #2: The manual states the "You can also click the right and left arrows on the Style bars to scroll the bar one cell at a time." This is not true.
* Page 2-38 #1: The tutorial tells you to choose Move Backward only once when, in fact, you have to choose Move Backward 6 times to achieve the effect illustrated in the examples.
* Page 2-39 #4: Same issues as pervious. Must choose Move Backward 6 times.
* Page 3-23 #1: It tells you to choose Show Size here but this option is not available under the View menu because the Size bar is already shown when the document is first opened (Hide Size is shown).
* Page 3-24 #4: This step tells the user to click on a graphic and move it up 1/4 inch. The issue here is that the object in question is not grouped! The example clearly shows this object grouped but it'is not in the provided sample file. This could be very confusing to a new user. You need to drag around the object and group it before performing this step.
* Page 4-17 #1: It mentions 2 additional gradients added to the palette but the sample file actually contains 10 additional gradients.
* Page 4-18 #3: It says to click the first gradient cell in the bottom row. Due to the additional gradients, however, it should be the first gradient in the 3rd row (there are 4 rows).
* Page 4-19 #6: Second gradient in the bottom row should be the second gradient in the 3rd row (same issue as above).
* Page 4-25 #13: It says to open the stationary document just saved but you cannot see it because the Show popup menu in the Open dialog box is still set to show only Library files (from step #1 on page 4-7).
