Excel:
Copying an Excel spreadsheet, then pasting into Claris CAD or MacDraw II results in misaligned columns. This is because Excel copies all the cells to the clipboard as tab-separated text. Claris CAD and MacDraw II read the tab column separators as spaces. The best workaround is to copy and paste each spreadsheet column separately. Then align the text objects in Claris CAD and MacDraw II.
Claris Resolve:
When copying/pasting from Claris Resolve to Claris CAD and MacDraw II, each spreadsheet cell pastes as a separate text object. Gridlines, if displayed in Claris Resolve, also paste into Claris CAD and MacDraw II. All the cells and gridlines paste as a group, which can be ungrouped. Thus, when pasted, the columns align correctly.
