ClarisWorks: AutoDoubler Issues

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
AutoDoubler version 1.0 has been reported to sometimes unbundle FileMaker Pro files. This results in files losing their icon and giving the "Application busy or missing" message when double-clicked.

The bundle bit is stored in the header of each file, and acts as a pointer to the file's creator, where icon resources are stored, among other things. AutoDoubler compresses and decompresses files in the background, and is known to unbundle PageMaker files. A utility for re-bundling PageMaker files ships with the product, but does not work for FileMaker Pro files. AutoDoubler is a cousin of DiskDoubler.

The developer, Salient Software, has been notified of this report and will investigate the issue.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
AutoDoubler, versions prior to 1.0.5, will conflict with opening files created by ClarisWorks or FileMaker Pro.
