Claris CAD: Feet and Inches Displayed in Location Bar

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
You can get the Location bar in Claris CAD to display in feet and inches. Several conditions must be met, but these are common among architectural users, who are most likely to want feet and inches. All of the following commands are in the Rulers... dialog.

1) You must have an actual ruler set in feet. (The actual ruler is the bottom ruler in the Rulers dialog. It represents the 'real life' dimensions of the objects you are drawing. The top ruler represents the dimensionson the screen. For more info see the article "The Rulers... Dialog.")
2) You must have Fractional Readout selected.
3) You will get feet and inches more often if you have Round off values.

Round off values rounds off the dimensions in the location bar to display in feet an inches. 3.01 feet will display as 3' with Round off values active.

The denominator in the fractional readout will depend on the number of divisions per inch set in the dialog. If you have 12 divisions per foot, you will get whole inches in the readout; if you have 24 divisions per foot you will get half inches.

It is not possible to have feet and inches to display in the Info window.
