If you use MacWrite II, you know how handy it is to set a custom style for the text formats you apply to headings and other sections of your document. Although ClarisWorks doesn't have a "Custom Styles" option per se, you can set up those styles easily with a macro. Here's what you do:
1. Highlight text that you want to format.
2. Choose "Record Macro" from the Macro item in the File menu. (Or press Command-Shift-J).
3. Pick a key equivalent for the custom style and click Record.
4. Apply the font, size, style, and color options you want.
5. Choose Stop Recording from the Macro item in the File menu. (Or just press Command-Shift-J again.)
From then on, whenever you want to apply that style in your document you just highlight the text and press the key equivalent you selected.
