ClarisWorks: Viewing Databases in "Spreadsheet" mode

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
The Microsoft Works database module has a "Spreadsheet View" which allows the user to view all data in columns and rows with grid lines.

ClarisWorks database offers similar functionality with its columnar layout. However, if the user has more fields than can reasonably fit across one page (usually greater than 12 on a letter size page), not all fields can be viewed.

If a spreadsheet view is important for viewing and manipulating data, the ClarisWorks user can create a new standard layout (to include all fields), select all the records (using Select All from the Edit menu), and then copy them to the clipboard (choose Copy from the Edit menu). Then open a new spreadsheet document and paste in the data from the clipboard.

If any changes are made to the data, be sure to copy all the spreadsheet cells, delete all records in the database, and paste the new data back into the database.
