Gradients may print lower quality from MacDraw Pro (any version) to a LaserWriter IIf or IIg printer when printing to legal size (or any paper size larger than letter size).
The reason is that the printer may not have enough RAM available to print the larger paper size with PhotoGrade enabled. When this happens, the printer will automatically disable PhotoGrade in order to print the document. Since PhotoGrade is used to print gradients from MacDraw Pro, the gradients will look poorer when PhotoGrade is disabled (about the quality of a gradient printed from an NT or NTX).
A IIf or IIg needs at least 8MB of RAM to print to legal size using PhotoGrade. Even more RAM may be needed if downloadable fonts are stored in RAM. The LaserWriter IIg only ships with 5MB RAM, which is not enough to print to legal size using PhotoGrade.
