ClarisWorks: Memory Management and Spell Checker

Question:

I'm working in a Claris application and I perform some actions, open a number of documents, copy some information into the Clipboard, and try to spell check my document. The program tells me that there is not enough memory to perform the operation. Why? If I quit the program and restart it, the spell check works fine.

Answer:

The Claris spell checker requires 150k of contiguous memory to check spelling. If there is not enough room within the application memory space, you'll get the "not enough memory" message.

If you close some windows and empty the Clipboard, enough application space memory will be released for the spell checker to operate.

A more permanent solution is to allocate more memory to the application.
