ClarisWorks: Accuracy Limitation of Minimum/Maximum Chart Range

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
Minimum and maximum chart range settings in ClarisWorks are only accurate to the first digit.

For example, for values under 100, ClarisWorks rounds the min/max settings in the chart dialog to the nearest 10. Thus, a specified range of 25-75 would result in a displayed range of 20-80.

This problem is compounded as numbers go higher. The range 115-150 would result in a chart from 100-200. A range of 115,000-150,000 would yield a chart from 100,000 to 200,000. An excess of 50,000 is certainly not ideal.

A workaround is to ungroup the chart and modify its graphic elements to show only the range you want. However, the link back to the data will be lost so the chart will not update.
