ClarisWorks: Exchanging Files with FileMaker Pro 2.0

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
The DIF format should be used to import and export files to and from FileMaker Pro. This format preserves the field names which will make it easier to merge files.

When opening a DIF file that was exported from FileMaker Pro 2.0, ClarisWorks automatically creates the fields necessary to accommodate your data. Each field has the same name as it did in FileMaker and uses Text as it's field type. Since ClarisWorks matches field names while pasting, this makes it easy to exchange information between ClarisWorks and FileMaker databases on a consistent basis.
