Q: When I change text in a field to Bold, it shows up that way in all my layouts, even ones where the field is set to Plain text. If I set the text back to Plain, then it appears Plain in another layout where it is set to Bold. What I want is for all text in all fields to revert back to their default settings.

A: Once you change the font, size or style of text in a field, it will retain those attributes in all layouts. The following procedure will restore all text to the default format defined in each field. Do this on a copy of your database in case you accidentally delete some records.

1) In the database, click anywhere outside of a field to select an entire record.
2) Now under the Edit menu, choose Select All, then Cut.
3) Under File, choose New and click on Spreadsheet, then OK.
4) Paste. (This has stripped out all font attributes.) Now Copy.
5) Return to your database and Paste.
