Claris Applications: Installing on a Partitioned Drive

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
If your hard drive has been partitioned and if you have chosen to name one of those partitions the same name as one of the disks of the Claris product you are attempting to install, you may run into an error.

For example, FileMaker Pro 2.0 comes with four disks:
1. Install 1
2. Install 2
3. Utilities
4. Examples

During installation, when you insert "Install 2" when prompted, the message "Utilities has the correct name, but is not the correct disk" may appear even if you have not inserted any disk. The installer is finding a partition named "Utilities". Changing the name of this partition allows for a successful installation of FileMaker Pro.
