FileMaker Pro: Draft Printer Skips Records or Prints Garbage

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
Many draft printers have a dip switch to toggle between Epson and IBM ProPrinter modes. If you get garbage, lose data, or skip records or labels when printing, try switching printer drivers to match the emulation mode. Switching to either the Epson FX-80 or the IBM ProPrinter 24 driver usually solves the problem.

You can also check your printer manual to determine which dip switch sets the emulation mode and set it to match your printer driver.
