Claris Applications: Numeric Formatting not Appearing Correctly

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
System 7.1 has a new control panel called Numbers that allows you to set up default characters for Currency Symbols ($ or ´ or £), and default locations and separators for the currency that you have chosen.

It is possible to set these symbols to anything, including words or numbers. As a result, some numeric formatting may not appear as you would expect it to.

System 7.1 also has a new Control Panel called Date & Time that controls default settings for dates and times. There is not as much control as with the Numbers Control Panel but you can change the appearance of dates and times. For example, one option allows times to appear with leading zero.
