ClarisWorks: Decreased Performance of High-speed Serial Communications

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
The Macintosh Hardware System Update 1.0 is an extension which fixes errors in System 7.1 which result in decreased performance of high-speed serial communications in Classic II, LC, LC II, IIsi, IIvx, IIvi, Quadra 900, Quadra 950. Inaccuracies in the system clock were also fixed for that set of CPUs.

If you have one of the CPUs above, run System 7.1, and use the ClarisWorks communications environment, we recommend you obtain this extension.

In addition, the Hardware System Update 1.0 fixes:

* errors in ejecting floppy disks in IIsi, IIci, IIvx, IIvi, Quadra 700, Quadra 950;
* includes a new version of the Memory Control Panel which prevents users from setting RAM disk sizes to inappropriate values.

The extension is free from user groups and on-line software archives.
