PhoneNetTalk: Changing Directories in the Open / Save Dialogs

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
When using PhoneNetTalk to access a Macintosh file server from a PC, moving too deep into nested sub-directories (Macintosh folders) may eventually seem to stop working. Double-clicking on sub-folders, or selecting a folder and clicking the Open button from the Open or Save dialogs does not change the current working directory. This only seems to happen after at least four levels of sub-nesting of folders. Changing the current working directory in the properties of a Program Manager icon does not correct this issue.

This appears to be a problem in Windows (all versions), since similar behavior can be noticed in many other Windows applications. The only suggested workaround at this time is to not nest directories too deeply on Macintosh servers where ClarisWorks for Windows documents need to be stored.
