If you do a Thesaurus lookup with a capitalized word, and Word Finder does not know the word, you can get inaccurate suggestions as to the closest matching word.
To duplicate this:
1. Launch MacWrite Pro, ClarisWorks or ClarisImpact.
2. Type and select the word 'Dum'. Capitalization is important.
3. Bring up the Thesaurus.
You get a list of suggestions beginning in the middle of the ju's and ending with 'Xerox copy' and 'Synonym finder'. If you change the word to 'dum' and do another lookup, you get a more reasonable list.
This occurs with all languages. In addition, single letters tend to give odd results. Looking up synonyms for 'b' will provide a list of close matches beginning with 'a' as well as 'b'.
Thesaurus version 3.7 is the current version as of 4/2/93 and it exhibits this problem.
