Redraw Problem with Protected Spreadsheet Cells (SS)

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
To reproduce:
Open a new spreadsheet document. Click on cell C1 and type =A1. Protect cell C1. In cell A1, type in a long string of text. You will notice cell C1 will display the text that you typed in cell A1. Unprotect cell C1, go back and retype a few characters in cell A1. Cell C1 will display the text you entered. However, ClarisWorks will not erase all of the existing text that was entered previously.

Simply scroll so that the cell is out of view and scroll back to force the cell to refresh.
