Date Format Preference and Insert Date Have Incorrect Information or "D"‘s Where a Date Would Be Expected

On machines that have had Windows 3.0 installed, a setting for an International preference may not get set correctly. Quit ClarisWorks, open the International Control Panel, click OK, and close the control panel to reset the preference properly.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

Problem:
Date Format menu in Preferences has "D"'s instead of dates. When you choose Insert Date, you get these "D"'s within the Date string.

Explanation:
This only happens with Windows 3.0 or when you install Windows 3.1 over a 3.0 installation. Windows 3.0 sometimes has an incorrect international setting that does not get reset when you install Windows 3.1.

Solution:
1. Exit from ClarisWorks
2. Open the International Control Panel
3. Click the OK button
4. Relaunch ClarisWorks
