Exporting Database Data with Styles

Since you can select records in ClarisWorks databases and copy them , it is possible to export data with Fonts and Styles intact.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

ClarisWorks exports data using the Save As command and supports several standard database formats. All of them are plain text formats which strip the different fonts and styles you apply to text in fields.

However, since you can select records in ClarisWorks databases and copy them, it is possible to export data with Fonts and Styles intact.

1. Select a record by clicking outside of a field and then Select All
2. Copy
3. Create a new ClarisWorks WP document, and Paste.

Note: To control which fields get copied and in what order, create a standard layout with all the fields and re-order them, deleting any you don't want copied.
