Q: When I run ClarisWorks or MacWrite Pro after installing the Japanese Language Kit, the Fonts menu has only bold vertical lines instead of the names of the fonts.
A: ClarisWorks and MacWrite Pro are not compatible with World Script. You have two options:
1. Remove all the Language Kit extensions from the extensions folder, or use an extension manager utility to disable them. Since you will lose your WorldScript features with this method, choice number 2 is a better option.
2. Workaround:
- Restart will all extensions off by holding down the Shift Key.
- Trash the Claris Fonts file that's in the Claris folder in the System Folder.
- Launch ClarisWorks or MacWrite Pro; this will create a new Claris Fonts file.
- Locate the file from the Finder. Get Info on this file and Lock it.
- Restart normally. The Claris fonts menu will show all available font names (though the names will be in the Chicago font).
