ClarisWorks 2.0 and ClarisImpact allow the creation of Preference defaults without saving a stationery document. One of the Preference choices is Palettes and one of the options is Load Editable 256 Color Palette. However, Claris programs will not remember the pathname for the palette when making a default. Claris programs will remember that an editable 256 color palette has been selected, but not the specific palette. Claris programs simply revert to the standard palette.
Workaround:
Use a stationery document to remember the Preference default for Editable 256 Color Palette. Stationery documents settings override all defaults set through the Preferences.
NOTE: Make Defaults will remember the pathname to a palette in the document from which you set the default since the pathname is stored in the document.
