Sometimes you want to consolidate values from different parts of your worksheet into a single graph. Claris Resolve doesn't let you directly select and chart discontinuous ranges. But here are two ways to work around that limit.
Close neighbors
If your series are within a couple rows or columns of each other, you can graph the whole block and take out the ranges that shouldn't appear on the graph:
1. Select the entire range, including the area you don't want included, and chart it.
Notice the chart legend contains a marker for all series, including the ones you don't want used.
2. Double-click the marker for any series you don't want on the chart. This will present the Series dialog box.
3. Click on the Delete button to remove the series from the chart (this will not affect the data on the worksheet).
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each unwanted series.
Far-flung ranges
If your ranges are widely separated on the worksheet, you can chart one series and manually add the others:
1. Select the first contiguous group of data and chart it.
2. Double-click a the series marker in the legend of the chart. The Series dialog box appears.
3. Click the Duplicate button. This will create an exact duplicate of the selected series.
4. Double-click on the duplicate series item to bring up the Series dialog box.
5. Change the data range to the next range of data you want charted.
6. Adjust any symbols or colors as needed.
7. Click the OK button.
8. With the duplicate series still selected, choose a new color from the fill color palette in the tool bar.
9. Repeat steps 2 through 8 for each new series you want to add to the chart.
