Adding a Paint frame reserves an area in the current document. If the Paint frame is filled with the transparent pattern, the objects on the document that were placed first will appear through the portions of the Paint frame that don't display the image. The result on screen is seamlessly integrated Paint, Text and Draw elements, with a layered or superimposed visual effect.
However, when printing to a PostScript LaserWriter with the Color/Grayscale option selected in the Print dialog box, the Paint frame will print white or opaque, unlike what you may see on the screen. In order to get the Paint frame to print without a white box around it, choose Black and White rather than Color/Grayscale in the Print dialog box.
NOTE: This is a known limitation of PostScript. Thus, another workaround would be to print to any QuickDraw printer.
