Three Ways to Align Objects (GR)

ClarisWorks gives you three ways to align objects on the page:

Align Objects Command: The Align Objects Command on the Arrange Menu aligns the tops, bottoms, centers, and left or right edges of any two or more objects.

Autogrid: The Autogrid feature automatically jumps objects to the nearest grid coordinates. With Autogrid on, you either:

1. Drag objects close to their desired position and let ClarisWorks place the objects in their final position, or

2. Use the Arrow Keys to move the selected object(s) one grid space with each Arrow keypress.

"Visual" Alignment: Both the Align Objects and Autogrid features align objects mechanically, not "visually". For example, neither approach makes it easy to line up the end of a diagonal arrow with the center of a word.

To align objects visually, turn the Autogrid on and use either the mouse or Arrow Keys to place the objects close to their desired positions. Then turn the Autogrid off and use the Arrow Keys to "nudge" the selected objects into their final positions.
