Q. Is here any way to read my Apple II Bank Street Writer files into ClarisWorks?
A. Yes, just follow these steps:
1. Boot your Apple II with Bank Street Writer. Press the Escape Key repeatedly as the program boots; Bank Street Writer will display the Utility Program Menu.
2. With the Utility Program Menu on the screen, select #2 ("Convert Writer File"). Then follow the prompts that tell Bank Street Writer to convert your file from Binary to Text. Enter the file names and disk drives that contain your disks. Otherwise, accept all the default entries that appear on this screen. Bank Street Writer will create a ProDOS text file.
3. Launch ClarisWorks and follow the directions from your manual that describe how to import AppleWorks word processor files.
You can use similar procedures to transfer documents into ClarisWorks from any Macintosh, Apple II, or MS-DOS program that can produce ASCII (Text) files.
