Conflict with Microsoft Mail notifier option

There is a recognized conflict between Microsoft Mail's notifier option and several Claris products. While exact version by version compatibility is not available, Microsoft supplies the following advice to users of Microsoft Mail. (excerpted from Microsoft Knowledgebase)

...When a Mail message is received while using MacWrite and Claris CAD, the Macintosh hangs. If you are in MacDraw II, you will not receive notification of new mail regardless of your preferences.

...To avoid this problem, turn off all notifier preferences and do not attempt to read your mail while using a Claris Product.

This problem is known to occur with versions up to and including Microsoft Mail 3.00
