Using a ClarisWorks Macro to Automatically Print Every Other Page (All)

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
If you want to print on every other page (so that you can print on both sides of each page), there is a way to do this using ClarisWorks. The manual method is to select Print in the File menu, click in the radio button "From ____ To: ____" and fill in the first page number in both blanks. Then repeat the procedure for the successive pages you want to print.

To automate this procedure, record a macro. The following example will print the odd numbered pages. When you begin recording, name the macro and give it a keystroke.

Then type:
Command-P (to bring up the Print dialog box)
Tab 1 (to place the number "1" in the From blank)
Tab 1 (to place the number "1" in the To blank)
Return (to activate the printing of page 1)

Command-P
Tab 3
Tab 3
Return (to activate the printing of page 3)

Continue the steps for 5, 7, 9 etc. Since printing pages that do not exist has no effect, go out to the farthest page number you might want to print in the future. Now record a Macro to print the even numbered pages. Simply run these two macros in the future.

If you have ClarisWorks 2.0, you can link these macros to your own customized palette button for one click use in the future.
