When transferring a file, particularly when using Text file transfer protocol, quote marks and apostrophes may be converted to other characters when received. These characters include R's, S's, and U's. This is due to the fact that when the document was originally created, the Smart Quotes option in the Preferences was on. Always turn the Smart Quotes option OFF when composing a document for transfer, if Text transfer protocol will be used, or if you are unsure if the software on the receiving system supports Smart Quotes.
