Applying a Drop Shadow to the Legend or Title of a Chart may turn the Legend or Title black.
Legend and Title will turn black with the following Model Styles:
Deco Line
Deco Pie
Deco Bar
Informal Bar
Informal Line
Informal Pie
Only Title will turn black with the following Model Styles:
Modern Bar
Modern Line
Modern Pie
Once the Legend or Title has been changed to black, it will stay black even if you remove the drop shadow.
Workaround:
Select the Legend or Title and fill it with white or some other color. Once you have changed the shadowed Legend or Title to a white fill you can save the new version of this Chart as Style. To save the new version of the Chart as a new Style:
1. Select the Chart so that the gray border surrounds it.
2. Choose Model Styles... from the Chart menu.
3. Click the Add button.
4. Type in a Name for this new Chart.
5. Click the Done button.
This new Style will appear in the Data Chart pre-creation dialog box at the bottom of the list.
