MacDraw Pro: Gradients in Polygons don‘t Print to the StyleWriter I

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
Polygons (other than rectangles) filled with directional gradients in MacDraw Pro may not print to the StyleWriter I printer using the StyleWriter I driver. The polygon itself will print properly, but it will not be filled with a gradient.

This appears to be a problem with directional gradients that are oriented very closely to the four main quadrant axes: 0¡, 90¡, 180¡ and 270¡. Editing the gradient so that it is oriented at least 5¡ away from the axis (i.e., 95¡ instead of 90¡), then reapplying that edited gradient to the polygon, appears to solve the problem.

"Circular" and "Burst" gradients appear to print properly, although, as with all gradients printed to a StyleWriter I, they print very slowly and in "bands" (both are QuickDraw limitations).
