Two of the five Date Formats available for Timelines will sometimes not allow the modification of a date in the Planned Start, Planned Finish, Actual Start or Actual Finish column (even if the date is accurate). Date format options appear in this order from the Date Format... dialogue box:
6/11/95
Jun 11, 1995
June 11, 1995
Sun, Jun 11, 1995
Sunday, June 11, 1995
The top three formats do not cause any problems. The last two formats will sometimes not allow modification, indicated by a beep but NO error message. The beep simply means ClarisImpact will not accept what you are entering.
Workaround:
All of the date formats except for the first choice are not meant to be edited. When changing a date, do not just modify the day or year, retype the entire date in the format mm-dd-yy instead of the long format (once entered, ClarisImpact will automatically reformat to the long version of the date).
NOTE: Although the last 4 date formats are for display only and not meant to be modified in their long form only the last two date formats will cause problems. Therefore it is safe to edit the first three date formats in long form but not the last two.
The ClarisImpact Development team is aware of this issue.
