All objects created in ClarisImpact can have their dimensions displayed and modified through the Object Size... palette under the Arrange menu. These dimensions can display in inches, millimeters, centimeters, picas and points and are based upon the ruler settings (the unit of measure can be changed by choosing Rulers... from the Layout menu).
The issue occurs when you change the unit of measure in the middle of a drawing. The dimensions displayed in Object Size... will not be converted to the new unit of measure on any existing objects. All new objects will display the new unit of measure. Try this example:
1. Create a new Drawing document.
2. Create a rectangle.
3. Choose Object Size... from the Arrange menu. Notice that the dimensions for the selected object are in inches.
4. Choose Rulers... from the Layout menu and change the unit of measure to millimeters and then click the Okay button.
5. Draw a new rectangle. Notice that the dimensions for this object are displayed in millimeters.
6. Click on the first rectangle and notice that the unit of measure in the Object Size palette changes to inches.
Claris Works reacts differently to the same procedure. When changing the unit of measure all objects are converted to the new unit of measurement.
The only workaround is to redraw the objects that do not have the correct unit measurements.
The ClarisImpact Development team is aware of this issue.
