NEW EDUCATION SOFTWARE AVAILABLE FROM CLARIS AND CLARIS SOLUTIONS ALLIANCE MEMBERS

SANTA CLARA, Calif., -- April 18, 1994 -- Claris Corporation today announced that leading education publishers in the Claris Solutions Alliance (CSA), which includes third party software developers, consultants, trainers and publishers, have developed courseware and classroom resources designed for use with ClarisWorks, the award-winning integrated software solution available for Macintosh and Windows.

New education software solutions address a variety of curricula including language arts, foreign language, mathematics, science, social studies, and special education as well as classroom management and administration.

ClarisWorks tutorials for higher education programs

Mitchell McGraw-Hill has published two new ClarisWorks tutorials designed for education majors and certificate program participants. Using ClarisWorks for the Macintosh and ClarisWorks for Windows tutorials, students learn word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, charting and database applications. Each lesson contains objectives, a hands-on tutorial, a command summary and self-tests.

Templates ease curriculum building
and class management for K-12 educators

ClarisWorks in the Classroom is a set of templates designed to bring innovative computing and learning to elementary education. With these templates, children are able to learn the fundamentals of computing while also improving reading, writing and arithmetic. The lessons contain a teacher's manual which recommends the age group for the templates and how each lesson should be structured.

ClarisWorks for Teachers is a guide to help educators become more productive in managing everyday classroom tasks. ClarisWorks for Teachers includes templates for student information, grade recording, letters to parents, newsletters, room layouts, evaluation portfolios, progress reports, schedules and more.
