It is important to remember that the Connectors in an Organization Chart or Flow Chart base their connection intelligence on the lowest object in the Element Style. In other words, Connector lines attach to the first object drawn or the object furthest back in the Element Style. This could cause a connector to appear to attach off-center. Try this example:
1. Create a new Organization Chart or Flow Chart Element Style.
2. Draw two rectangles in the Style Editor window, and make sure they are not touching.
3. Put in at least one field.
4. Apply this Element Style to an Organization Chart or Flow Chart element and notice that the connector attaches to the first object drawn.
5. Edit the Element Style and move the second object to the back and watch the connector now use this object as a guide for connecting.
Normally, objects will be superimposed on top of each other, so this is not a real-world example. It does illustrate the way that connectors and elements work together, and the logic behind connector behavior.
