Q:
I switched the palette in Preferences to one of the 256 editable color palettes by using the Load Palette button. How can I use the original 256 editable color palette again? I tried locating this palette with the Load Palette button but it does not appear to be located on my hard disk.
A:
The default 256 editable color palette is built into ClarisWorks and ClarisImpact. In order to switch back to this default palette, follow the instructions below.
1. Open Preferences and switch the color palette from the 256 editable color palette to the Drawing and Text Colors palette and then click the OK button.
2. Open Preferences again and switch the color palette from the Drawing and Text Colors palette* to the 256 editable color palette but do not click the Load Palette button. When you click on the OK button your original 256 color palette will be back.
Additional Considerations:
If you are using a black & white Macintosh or a Macintosh with only 16 display colors, you will not see the option for changing color palettes. Change your display back to 256 colors and make the palette changes.
If you want to make the switching between palettes easier, you can use the Save button in Preferences to save the default palette as a file that can be located with the Load Palette button.
* Called "Claris 81 Color Palette" in ClarisImpact.
