Seeing through bitmapped graphics when you print them on a LaserJet 4?
If the printer driver's graphics mode is set to Raster, any objects behind your bitmap will show through. Your bitmap will also show through any objects placed on top of it. To print opaque bitmapped graphics on a LaserJet 4, open the control panel, click on setup/options. In the graphics mode box, select HP-GL/2 instead of raster. This will also improve your printing speed.
What is HP-GL/2? HP-GL/2 is a vector graphics language that basically turns your printer into a plotter. The HP-GL method of printing requires less memory on the printer and prints faster than raster. The HP-GL feature was added to the PCL language in PCL level 5, and is supported in Hewlett Packard LaserJet 4 printers.
