The best way to bring paint (or other bitmapped) documents into ClarisDraw for editing is by using either the "Open" or "Place File" choices from the FILE menu. Once the picture is in the document, select it, and choose "Ungroup Picture" from the ARRANGE menu. You can then double-click on the image to edit it in a paint frame.
This method retains the image's original resolution and bit depth. However, it can also change the image in some ways, such as modifying the image's size, color, or angle of rotation. If you ungroup the picture and then aren't happy with the results, immediately select "Undo" from the EDIT menu, before performing any other operation. The "ungroup" action will be undone.
