ClarisWorks and ClarisImpact: Gradient PICT Objects Overlap Object Boundaries

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
There is a known issue when printing gradient PICT objects that have been subscribed to, converted, inserted, or placed. The issue occurs only when printing to a laser printer.

Shapes and Tools with gradients saved with PICT format will print with the gradient out of the boundaries.

To reproduce the issue:
1. On a new document draw any shape.
2. Fill it with gradient.
3. Save it as PICT format.
4. Open the saved file.
5. Print the file to a laser printer

Subscribed objects that contain gradients will also print the gradient out of the boundaries when printing to a laser printer.

1. Launch ClarisWorks or ClarisImpact and create a new draw document.
2. Select a shape tool, draw its object and fill it with a gradient.
3. Select the object and choose "Create Publisher..." from the Publishing sub menu under the Edit menu.
4. Name the file and click the Publish button.
5. Select "Subscribe To..." from the Publishing sub menu under the Edit menu.
6. Select the Edition file and click on the Subscribe button.

7. Print the document to a laser printer

Notice that the gradient extends beyond the boundaries of the object.
