Importing DIF as Text Creates Extra Records

Be sure to specify the DIF filter when importing into FileMaker Pro, especially if the DIF file was created by ClarisWorks.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

Importing a DIF file exported from ClarisWorks into FileMaker Pro without specifying the DIF import filter will create extra records when importing.

The solution is to select the DIF filter in the Import dialog in FileMaker Pro.

The issue does not occur with DIF files created in FileMaker Pro.
